The Madrasah · Pre-primary to Year 7
A weekend madrasah designed to be a place children enjoy coming to, where they belong and make good friends.
“Teach your children three things: love for the Prophet, love for his family, and recitation of the Qur’an.”
— A saying attributed to the Prophet ﷺ
Children need to feel comfortable, safe and happy to learn, and to feel good learning their religion. At its core, Islamic education is about love.
Our approach rests on three words: knowledge, practice and service. Knowledge leads to practice, practice uplifts the soul, and that gives the strength to serve.
We don’t just want our students to read the Qur’an. We want them to fall in love with it.
We keep the traditional Muqaddam, designed to be clear for children in the same script as the Madinah Mushaf. Then we go beyond recitation: tajweed, tafsir and memorisation, one surah at a time, with games, songs and art along the way.
Islam, Iman and Ihsan, taught so children can answer “Why am I a Muslim?” and “Why do I love being one?”
Fiqh, aqidah and tazkiyah are woven into one curriculum, based on Imam al-Ghazali’s Revival of the Religious Sciences: every act of worship has an outer form and an inner meaning.
A person is on the religion of their best friend. Towards the Middle Path, we want well-balanced Australian Muslim children, so break times and activities are built for friendship, teamwork and good values.
